Last updated: April 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UmmahCauses ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

UmmahCauses is an online platform that facilitates charitable donations to verified 501(c)(3) organizations. We provide a transparent platform with 0% platform fees, allowing donors to support causes they care about.

3. Donations

3.1 Processing

All donations are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. By making a donation, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method for the amount specified.

3.2 Fees

UmmahCauses charges 0% platform fees. Stripe's payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) apply to all transactions. Donors may choose to cover these processing fees optionally.

3.3 Platform Tips

Donors may optionally leave a tip to support UmmahCauses' operations. This tip is entirely voluntary and separate from the donation amount.

3.4 Refunds

Donations are generally non-refundable. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us within 30 days if you believe a refund is warranted due to error or fraud.

4. Tax Deductibility

Donations made through UmmahCauses to 501(c)(3) organizations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We provide donation receipts for tax purposes. Consult a tax professional for advice specific to your situation.

5. Charity Verification

We verify that charities listed on our platform are registered 501(c)(3) organizations. However, we do not guarantee or endorse any charity's programs, effectiveness, or use of funds. We display objective trust indicators to help donors make informed decisions.

6. User Accounts

Account creation is optional for making donations. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated systems to access the Platform without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Submit false or fraudulent donation requests

8. Intellectual Property

The UmmahCauses name, logo, and website content are our intellectual property. You may not use our branding without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that the Platform will be error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

UmmahCauses shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount of your donation.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the binding arbitration provision in Section 13, any judicial proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13. Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Binding Arbitration. You and Ummah Media Group LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules & Procedures (or, for consumer disputes, its Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards), rather than in court.

Venue. The arbitration shall be conducted in San Bernardino County, California. The parties may agree in writing to conduct the arbitration by video conference or by submission of documents only.

Class Action Waiver. Each party may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.

Exceptions. Either party may (a) seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information, (b) bring an individual action in small-claims court, or (c) exercise rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Opt-Out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@ummahcauses.org within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
