7. Cross-Property Behavioral Profiling (Opt-In by Default)
UmmahCauses is part of the Ummah Media Group (UMG) ecosystem. When you log in with UmmahPass, we collect first-party behavioral events (page views, donations, charity searches) and link them to your UmmahPass profile across UMG properties — UmmahPass, UmmahPlaces, ummah.me, UmmahBuzz, UmmahArmy, ummah.email, UmmahLocal, Ummah.city, MuslimTorrents, and the UMG Dashboard. This is how we recommend causes you'd care about and personalize the giving experience.
We use a signed identity cookie (umg_id) issued on the .ummahpass.io domain and an identity-bridge iframe at id.ummahpass.io to recognize you across our properties. The cookie carries your UmmahPass user ID, screenname, and tier — nothing more — and is HTTPS-only, expires after 30 days, and is cleared on logout. You can opt out of cross-property tracking at any time at ummahpass.io/profile. Operational events (logins, payments, security) continue to be logged regardless of your tracking preference.
8. Cookies & Retention
We use essential session cookies for authentication, the umg_id cross-property identity cookie (described above), and Matomo for privacy-first visitor analytics (no third-party cookies). Activity logs for signed-in members are retained up to 12 months, with city/region location data removed after 6 months. Anonymous visitor logs are retained 30 days. Aggregated/anonymized statistics may be retained up to 3 years. Payment records are retained as required by law.
