Once your charity is approved, this guide walks you through setting up your payout method so donations reach your organisation. No technical knowledge needed.

How payouts work
When a donor gives through UmmahCauses, the funds go to your charity via your chosen payout method. UmmahCauses takes a 2.5% Giveback — this is not a platform fee taken from your charity. It is a small amount redirected to an Ummah One member's charity of choice as part of our giving ecosystem.
Your charity always receives the full donor-intended amount. UmmahCauses absorbs any transfer fees (Wise or wire) so nothing is lost in transit.
The only cost that applies everywhere is Stripe's standard card processing fee (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction). Donors have the option to cover this themselves at checkout.
What you'll need before you start

Charity-admin account login
The account linked to your charity when approved. Email support@ummahcauses.org if you need access.
Registration number
EIN (US), Charity Commission number (UK), CRA number (Canada) - required for Stripe identity verification.
Payout account details
Bank routing + account numbers (Stripe/wire), Wise recipient details, or PayPal Business email address.
Government-issued ID
Required by Stripe's identity verification for the representative completing the US Stripe Connect form.
Not approved yet? Apply to list your charity first. Approval usually takes 1-2 business days.
Choose your payout method
Select the method that works for your organisation. You can change this later from your charity-admin dashboard.
Stripe Connect
RECOMMENDEDDirect payout - funds transfer to your bank within 2 business days of each donation clearing
Best for US 501(c)(3) charities with a US bank account. Stripe handles identity verification and bank account linking directly. Once enabled, payouts happen automatically - no monthly wait.
Wise Transfer
Monthly batch payout - processed once per month
Best for international charities or UK/Canada/Pakistan charities receiving in their local currency. We send one batch transfer per month. UmmahCauses absorbs the Wise fees so your charity receives the full amount.
Bank Transfer
Monthly batch payout - processed once per month
Standard domestic bank transfer. We send one batch payment per month covering all donations received in the prior period. UmmahCauses covers the wire fee. Suitable when Stripe Connect or Wise isn't available.
PayPal
Monthly batch payout - processed once balance clears the minimum threshold
Provide your PayPal Business email address. We send a single monthly payment once the accumulated balance reaches the payout threshold. Note: PayPal imposes its own receiving fees on incoming transfers - we recommend Stripe Connect or Wise if possible.

Step-by-step setup
Follow the path for your chosen method.
Setting up Stripe Connect (US charities)
Log in to your charity-admin account
Use the credentials you set up when your charity was approved. Log in here.
Open the Stripe / Payouts page
From your dashboard, go to ummahcauses.org/charity-admin/stripe.
Click "Connect with Stripe"
You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding form. Stripe will ask for your charity's legal details, EIN, bank account, and a government ID for the representative completing the form.
Complete Stripe's form and return
Work through each section on Stripe's form. You can save your progress and return later if needed. When finished, Stripe will redirect you back to UmmahCauses automatically.
You're live when you see "Payouts enabled"
Once Stripe approves your account, your status page will show Payouts enabled. Donations made from that point forward will be paid out directly to your bank account.
Setting up Wise, Bank Transfer, or PayPal
Log in and open Payout Preferences
Select your payout method
Choose Wise, Bank Transfer, or PayPal from the dropdown. The form will adjust to show the fields relevant to your chosen method.
Enter your payout details and save
Fill in the account details for your chosen method. Double-check every number carefully - errors will delay your payout. Click Save Preferences.
Our team reviews and activates your account
We manually verify non-Stripe payout details before the first batch. You'll receive an email when your account is confirmed. Monthly batch payouts run on the 1st of each month.
What your status means
You'll see one of these four states in your charity-admin dashboard.
You haven't set up a payout method yet. Your charity is listed on UmmahCauses but cannot receive donations until you complete this step.
Your payout details have been submitted and our team is verifying them. This usually takes 1-2 business days. No action needed from you.
Your charity is fully active. Donations are flowing to your account. For Stripe Connect this is near-real-time; for other methods it is monthly.
Something is incomplete - Stripe may need additional information, or we couldn't verify your payout details. Check your email or contact us to resolve.
